Posted by [Carl Forsyth](https://blog.detection-technologies.com/author/carl-forsyth) on Mar 4, 2019 3:55:23 PM - [Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ![Urbex](https://blog.detection-technologies.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Urbex.jpg?width=960&name=Urbex.jpg) In recent years Urban Exploration has become an online sensation especially on video sharing sites such as YouTube. While some people who participate in these activities do so lawfully in with permission from building owners, it represents a real problem for keeping your site secure, especially when amateurs attempt to copy what they've seen online. Shopping centres, office blocks and industrial sites are all popular targets for such activities. Apart from the obvious risks these activities pose such as damage to property and equipment, it could also leave you open to a liability claim in the event that the trespasser sustained injury while on your property. This is especially the case when sites aren't properly secured or monitored because there would usually be little perceived risk from traditional crime such as theft. This 21st century problem requires the latest technology to eliminate the risk to your business. Unfortunately, CCTV is only useful after a trespass event has occurred, unless you have trained security staff monitoring every camera around the clock which soon becomes prohibitively expensive. At Detection Technologies, we have developed a state-of-the-art sensor cable called [VibraTek](https://www.detection-technologies.com/product/vibratek-plus/) which will immediately trigger an alarm as soon as any unusual vibration, such as the climbing or cutting of a fence is detected. [VibraTek sensor cable](https://www.detection-technologies.com/product/vibratek-plus/) can also be fitted to ladders, walkways and steps which are intended only for use by maintenance staff. Anybody walking or climbing, no matter how softly or carefully, will cause an intrusion event alarm. If your site is surrounded by a wall, our [VibraFon sensors](https://www.detection-technologies.com/product/vibra-fon/) can be fitted inside the wall and this listens for anybody attempting to climb over or damage the perimeter. When these sensors are connected to our [VibraSector processor](https://www.detection-technologies.com/product/vibra-sector/), this eliminates the risk of false alarms which could otherwise undermine the operators confidence in the system. All our systems operate virtually maintenance-free, and can be effortlessly integrated with your existing security system to add an additional layer of security to your building. Contact us today to discuss your requirements and let us help you to eliminate the threat of trespassers to your business.
